Kigali’s 1,500m altitude keeps temperatures stable year-round — typically 15°C to 27°C. The question is rainfall, which affects road conditions to the parks more than the city itself.
Rwanda has two dry seasons and two wet seasons. The dry seasons offer the clearest skies and easiest travel. The wet seasons bring lower prices and better gorilla permit availability, with the trade-off of afternoon downpours and occasionally slower roads to Nyungwe.

Getting here: Kigali International Airport (KGL) is 10 km from the city centre. Direct flights connect from Europe, the Middle East, and across Africa. RwandAir is the national carrier.

Visa: Most nationalities receive a tourist visa on arrival or can apply in advance at migration.gov.rw. East African Community nationals have separate arrangements. Confirm current fees before travel.
