Chameleon Hill Lodge sits on a hilltop above Lake Mutanda in southern Uganda, in the shadow of the Virunga Mountains. It’s a mid-range lodge designed around an unusually bold colour palette — every cottage is individually painted and styled — making it one of the most photographed lodges in the region.
The lodge is well-positioned for trekking the gorilla families in the Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, with Mgahinga Gorilla National Park around 1.5 hours’ drive away.
It’s also one of the few lodges in the area with direct lake access — a private pier on Lake Mutanda for swimming, kayaking, and boat trips to the islands.
